Environmental protection – firmly anchored in the Hochland philosophy
Environmental protection lies very much at the heart of our own interests as a company: after all, only in an intact environment can the raw materials be produced which we require to manufacture Hochland products to the necessary quality standards.
This is why Hochland adopted a proactive stance on environmental issues early on. It is firmly anchored in the company’s policy.
We strongly believe that business success and quality are not possible without sustainable economic management. As far as we are concerned, sustainability means the economical and conscious handling of all required resources and further reducing environmental pollution by using the very latest technologies at our plants so as to ensure that these continue to be usable in the future, too.
This principle applies to all Hochland plants at home and abroad.
Examples of Hochland’s proactive environmental protection are the high recovery and recycling rates of production materials and the fact that we have our own waste water treatment plants which we operate at our production sites.
Our plants in Heimenkirch and Schongau in Germany, Dieue-sur-Meuse in France and Kaźmierz in Poland are certified according to ISO 14001, the two German sites are also audited in compliance with the Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS).
Our work safety system in Heimenkirch is also certified according to OHSAS 18001 (OHSAS: Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series). Our Schongau plant is currently seeking to certify according to OHSAS 18001 as well.
