Sighişoara

In Romania Hochland has been producing processed cheese for the domestic market since 1999.

The plant Sighişoara is located in Transylvania at the centre of a traditional dairy farming area. About 200 staff are employed at this plant. Sighişoara is also the headquarters of Hochland România.

Sovata

In November 1999 a second Hochland plant was established in Romania, in Sovata. Hochland took over a cheese plant in the small spa town at the edge of the East Carpathians, some 80 kilometres north east of Sighişoara.

The aim of the company is to produce Romanian specialities such as Cascaval and also to secure the raw materials for the production of processed cheese in Sighişoara. The plant has a work force of over 200.
